I have really been trying to focus on adding more fresh veggies to my daily meals. I love raw veggies, but just cannot eat them with no dip. I don’t need much, I just need enough to add a little flavor to the veggies. This week I am toting a big bag of cut broccoli, carrots, celery, and cucumbers. Their companion….my homemade bleu cheese dip…soooo good!
1/3 c. Sour cream
2/3 c. Mayo (I use olive oil mayo…use what you like but it must be mayo…not miracle whip)
1/2 t. Worcestershire sauce
1/4 t. Garlic powder
1/4 t. Dry mustard
1/4 t. Salt
1/4 t. Pepper
Mix all above ingredients together, then add 2 T. Bleu cheese crumbles – you can go buttermilk bleu, maytag, or even my current fave, Gorgonzola. Run a knife through the crumbles to make sure that you have lots of yummy bleu cheese goodness to distribute throughout your dip.
The longer you can let this sit in the refrigerator and chill, the better it gets!
My fave variation…
Use Hellman’s spicy buffalo mayo OR add 1-2 T. Hot sauce to the mix and you have Buffalo bleu cheese dip. It is delicious!!!!
