It has been awhile since my last post. I had a computer meltdown. Even today, I still do not have my trusty hot pink laptop back in my possession, but I’m writing this post from the only other computer to which I have access. So…no pictures in this post, but I’ll let you know what I’ve been doing and clue you in on what’s coming in the next few weeks.
I’ve been doing tons of cooking and baking, and have posts lined up from just about here to eternity. Here’s a rundown of what’s been going on in my kitchen…
*mini cider donuts with cinnamon and sugar
*pies in a jar — apple bacon caramel, peach, and green tomato
*safari cupcakes for my friend’s son’s first birthday party
*my Cape Cod cookies for the above mentioned party
*apple pie spiced snickerdoodle sandwich cookies for the same party
*sweet glazed ham
*super creamy macaroni and cheese
*a new quest — baking my way through The Cookiepedia — recipe #1 Animal Cookies (think iced animal crackers/cookies of the Keebler variety) DONE and DELICIOUS!
*mini pumpkin pies (and a ton of other varieties courtesy of my mini pie maker)
*pumpkin cranberry bread
I think that about does it…it has been a busy couple of weeks and I can’t wait to get them all written up with the photos included! I’ll also be making grape jelly with my friend Mike this week, so I’ll try to throw in a post about that as well!
Soon, I’ll be hard at work on Thanksgiving preparations and I’ll be sharing some of my favorite Turkey Day recipes as well!
This is my absolute favorite time of year to cook, bake, and just be in the kitchen. Cooking and baking help me relax after the hardest of days and the results of those efforts nourish me when I need it most. I hope, if nothing else, this blog encourages you to get in your own kitchen and make something delicious. There is nothing like food that is homemade, especially when it’s shared with those you cherish most! And…if you make something great, I’d love to hear about it!
